About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Designer/Drafter to join a rapidly growing and dynamic team. Candidates can be based in Perth, WA or Brisbane, QLD. As a Civil Designer/Drafter at PTG Consulting you’ll gain exposure to a wide array of experiences and pick up essential on-the-job tools and skills to help you advance to the next stage of your career.  

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop civil design documentation to support our existing geotechnical, structural, and traffic teams

  • Participate in project delivery and ensure work output is of a technically high standard and within time and cost budget allocations 

  • Complete drawings / designs using standard methods and techniques

  • Recommend improvements to conventional work methods and procedures within an overall program 

  • Undertake work related training and demonstrate a willingness to pursue self-development for career advancement 

  • Deliver project outcomes within client specifications and expectations

  • Ensure drawings comply with design/drafting checklists and are peer reviewed

  • Monitor progress of own work to ensure compliance with program and budget 

  • Mentor others within your area of expertise.

  • Share knowledge through participation in industry events and/or inhouse training sessions. 

  • Support the dissemination of knowledge and use of best practice across the business.

 

About You:

  • 5+ years performing civil design and drafting 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 3D design

  • Strong knowledge, understanding and application of technical concepts, processes and activities.

  • Strong quality focus, with a commitment to continuous improvement

  • Ability to lead designers and drafters to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Thorough knowledge of the application of relevant standards and the minimisation of project risk.

  • Self-directed and motivated to succeed with minimal oversight.

  • Demonstrated intermediate skills in relevant software programs.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

  • Fosters trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders for long term mutual benefits.

  • Passionate and committed to achieving outcomes for self and PTG.

  • Focused on continual learning.
